Growth is all around us,... Ya think?!?!

It's hard to believe we're two-thirds of the way through Spring and Summer is only another month or so away. Where has the time gone? When I looked at my last blog date, I was like, dang, they must think I fell off Midgard into space or something.

This late Spring season has been busy and one of growth for me.

So what's been going on? Well, let's see......my husband and I celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary, we had a number of family birthdays, oh and I was asked and honored to make jewelry for a wedding. I was to create pieces for 4 bridesmaids and 2 flower girls initially which consisted of crystal bracelets and earrings for the bridesmaids, and pearl bracelet, necklace and earring sets for the flower girls. But then the mother of the groom contacted me to create a 3 piece set set for her, and finally, the bride herself requested earrings and a bracelet. As I was able to attend this wedding as well, I had the opportunity to see what I made in use, and that was very cool!

A recent request became a first for me. A good friend that recently moved into a new home asked me to do a house blessing for her new home in Northern Tradition. As I found no specific type of ritual for this type of rite, I researched a number of different ideas, blessings and rites, and was able to piece together something unique. I will be doing this later this month, and am very excited for the opportunity to honor the Gods and ask their blessing on behalf of my friend. The rune of growth and creation has definitely been manifesting its energies in my life lately.

Lastly, I was asked by the elders of Treibh na Tintean if I would consider being the tribe's bard.......seriously? Me? Well, apparently they think I have the voice to lead song, chants, etc. I said yes, as my voice has always been one of my tools and gifts, and if you don't use it, you lose it, right? And what better way to honor the Gods by singing and chanting their names, qualities and deeds!

The Kindred Facebook group: Odin's Associate Hearth of the Blue Raven Kindred has had slow growth. Part of this is on me as Hearth Guardian. There aren't many Heathens out in my local areas (that I'm aware of at least), and it seems like a lot of those I do know are already part of another Kindred. But again, I would invite any who are interested in Northern Tradition here in the U.S. to join this group. Right now it is only a Facebook group, open to those in the States. As it grows though, it would be a goal to gather for a festival, moot or sumble. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.

So after all is said and done, I truly hope not to be so long in updating events and news here. I thank you all for your continued support and encouragement. It really means a lot to me. Until next time, don't forget to RUNE your day! Hail and Farewell!
